この世からコーヒーがなくなる日、Xデーまでいよいよカウントダウンがはじまりました。
みなさんは「コーヒーの2050年問題」をご存知でしょうか？世界最大のアラビカ種の生産国であるブラジルでは気候変動によって2050年までに栽培可能エリアがおよそ1/2に減少すると言われています。そうなると当然コーヒーの価格は上昇し、消費者のコーヒー離れが懸念されます。生産国にとって、売れる見込みのない農作物を栽培するメリットはどこにあるでしょうか。多くの生産者がコーヒー栽培を止め、価格上昇に歯止めが効かず、負のスパイラルに突入していくことが予想されます。
コーヒー消費国であり、先進国で暮らす、私たちが主に引き起こした気候変動が、コーヒー豆の生産国で働く方々の生活を脅かしているこの状況に私は違和感を覚えます。
多くのコーヒーショップをはじめ、多くのコーヒー従事者が同じようにこの問題に違和感と危機感をもっておりそれぞれが様々な対策をとっています。
“この世から、コーヒーがなくなる日。”
この大きすぎる問題に対して、我々コーヒー従事者の対策だけでは正直、無力です。私は、この問題をひとりでも多くのコーヒー愛好家に知ってもらい、ここにいるみんなで一緒に解決したいと願っています。
日本中から集まったトップレベルのロースターが淹れる素晴らしいコーヒーを飲みながら、少し未来のことを一緒に考えてみませんか。

Unfortunately, the countdown to the day has begun.
Have you ever heard of the "coffee 2050 problem"?
In Brazil, the world's largest producer of Arabica, which is by far the most popular coffee today, climate change is expected to reduce the cultivable area by about half by the year 2050.
As a result, it would end up with higher coffee prices, and it’s easy to imagine that consumers will turn away from coffee. No wonder that producing countries would reconsider the advantage to grow crops. If many growers stop growing coffee, the price will rise even higher, creating a negative spiral.
I feel uncomfortable with this situation because climate change, mainly caused by us as a developed and coffee-consuming country, threatens the livelihoods of those who work in the producing countries. Many coffee shops and other professionals are concerned about this problem and taking various measures to deal with it.

Frankly, those of us in the coffee industry can't deal with this huge problem alone. I hope that more coffee lovers will become aware of this problem and that we can work together to solve it.
While drinking a cup of great coffee brewed by top-level roasters from all over Japan, why don’t we think a little more about the sustainable future?

今回、初開催の「金澤コーヒーフェスティバル2023」では、コンテストで数々の賞に輝く名店や、メディア等で多数紹介される人気店、唯一の国際基準コーヒー鑑定資格であるCQI認定のQグレーダー資格を持つ焙煎士のお店、そして人気フードショップが金沢に集結！金沢ひがし茶屋街に店舗をもつ「Nonstop Coffee Stand & Roastery」の山本史弥を筆頭にコーヒーラバーが集まる金澤コーヒーフェスティバル実行委員会の気持ちはただひとつ。
「金沢を日本イチのコーヒーの街にしたい！」 コーヒーカルチャーの最先端ともいえる、オーストラリア メルボルン。街並みがおしゃれで、多国籍な価値観があふれ、人々が温かい街。たくさんのカフェが立ち並ぶコーヒー激戦区で、バリスタが淹れる美味しいコーヒーを日常的に飲むことができます。
一方で実は金沢、昔から喫茶文化が根付いていることもあり、全国的にみてもコーヒー消費量の多い街です。食の都ともいえる金沢を、もっともっと多様性あふれるコーヒーの街にしたい。

In 2023, 10 famous coffee shops from all over Japan will gather in Kanazawa.
Kanazawa Coffee Festivals, to be held for the first time in 2023, will bring together award-winning coffee shops, popular coffee shops featured in the media, roasters certified as Q graders by CQI which is the only international standard for coffee grading, and local stores that specialize in pastries that go well with coffee!
Led by Fumiya Yamamoto of Nonstop Coffee Stand & Roastery in the Higashi Chaya-gai district of Kanazawa, the Kanazawa Coffee Festival Executive Committee, a group of coffee lovers, has only one goal in mind.
“We want to make Kanazawa the best coffee town in Japan! ”
Melbourne, Australia, is at the forefront of coffee culture in today’s world with its beautiful cityscape, multicultural values, and warm-hearted people. The city is a coffee battleground, with many cafes where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee brewed by quality baristas on a daily basis. As a matter of fact, Kanazawa has a long-established coffee culture as well and consumes more coffee than other cities in Japan.
We would like to make Kanazawa a city of food and a more diverse coffee town.
Even people who don't like coffee will enjoy discovering coffee!
