Workers

Creating Inclusive Workplaces Where Diverse Crews Can Thrive

Since 2023, Linnas Design has partnered with employment support organizations to create job opportunities for people with disabilities. By carefully understanding each individual’s strengths and needs, the company fosters an inclusive workplace where every crew member can contribute authentically.

Through close collaboration with support partners, Linnas Design provides assistance ranging from workplace environment design to long-term retention and career development.

Nurturing a Culture That Empowers Professionals to Keep Challenging Themselves

Linnas Design values a borderless culture that recognizes professional conduct and mindset above all else. Regardless of gender or nationality, crew members are evaluated not only on results and performance, but also on individuality and collaboration with others.

This merit-based environment has enabled tangible career growth, including the promotion of women into leadership positions.

Community

Making the Whole City More Welcoming Through Plogging

Since its opening, Linnas Design has continuously organized plogging activities — a combination of jogging and picking up litter — involving crew members, guests, and local residents.

This initiative helps participants discover the city, protect the local environment, and foster meaningful connections between people, extending hospitality beyond the hotel and into the wider community.

“Machi-Dig”: Encouraging Crews to Connect with the Local Community

Linnas Design introduced the “Machi-Dig” program to help crew members explore and engage with the local neighborhood during daily lunch breaks or time off. The company partially subsidizes visits to local restaurants and businesses, encouraging crews to build genuine relationships with people who live and work in the area.

Insights and experiences gained through Machi-Dig are shared with guests, enriching the hotel experience with authentic local perspectives and stories of Kanazawa.

Environment

Creating Environmentally Conscious Stays Together with Guests

Linnas Design promotes environmentally responsible stays across all its hotels. Initiatives include minimizing disposable amenities, reducing plastic bottle usage, and implementing eco-friendly cleaning practices to lower waste, water consumption, and CO₂ emissions.

The company also offers opportunities for guests to actively participate in environmental efforts, such as:

  • “KASA Recycling”, a project that reuses umbrellas left behind by guests

  • Sales of bamboo toothbrushes

  • Participation in plogging activities

These initiatives invite guests to become partners in environmental stewardship.

Looking Ahead

Toward a Future Where Hotels Contribute to a Better Society

Achieving B Corp certification is not a goal, but a starting point. Linnas Design will continue to evolve its hotels beyond places to stay, positioning them as platforms that connect people and communities while generating positive social change.

Moving forward, the company will focus on the following key initiatives:

1. Establishing a Hotel Model That Seamlessly Connects Living, Working, and Gathering

Linnas Design will further strengthen spaces where daily life, work, and human connection naturally coexist. Through thoughtfully designed guest rooms and shared spaces for long-term stays, environments that balance productivity and relaxation, and systems that encourage daily interaction between guests, local residents, and creators, the company aims to position its hotels as platforms supporting new urban lifestyles.

2. Advancing Co-Creative Hotels That Grow with Local Communities

The company will cultivate hotels as hubs where visitors and local culture intersect. By hosting talk events, workshops, collaborative projects with local industries and creators, and creating flexible spaces for small-scale events across multiple properties, Linnas Design seeks to foster sustainable, community-driven ecosystems centered around its hotels.

3. Building an Organization That Prioritizes Worker Well-Being

Believing that employee well-being directly shapes service quality, Linnas Design will further enhance support for its crew through expanded coaching and mentoring programs, flexible work arrangements aligned with diverse lifestyles, fair and transparent career pathways, and health-focused initiatives.

Through these efforts, the company aims to contribute to a new model of work within the hospitality industry.

4. Strengthening Sustainable Hotel Operations with Minimal Environmental Impact

Environmental initiatives will be advanced in a more structured and systematic way. These include upgrading the environmental management system B-EMS, reducing water, energy, and waste consumption, increasing the use of local and renewable materials, and enhancing eco-incentive programs for long-term guests.

Through these actions, Linnas Design will work toward making environmentally responsible hotel operations the standard rather than the exception.
